How can you ensure that generated solar energy is optimally utilized and perfectly aligned with energy demand? A recent installation at a customer of Tandem Solar Projects demonstrates how smart energy storage contributes to more efficient and sustainable energy management. With the addition of multiple heat pumps, a significant step was taken towards making the building more sustainable. At the same time, this introduced a new challenge: how to optimally match energy supply and consumption? The solution lay in a commercial battery that stores and releases energy at the right moment.

A Smart Balance Between Generation and Consumption
Thanks to the addition of heat pumps, the building became more energy-efficient and less dependent on fossil fuels. At the same time, energy consumption changed: at some moments, there was a surplus of solar energy, while at other times, additional power was needed.
To make smart use of this energy and gain experience with a larger commercial battery, the SolarEdge CSS-OD 102.4 kWh/50 kW battery was chosen. This system ensures that:
excess solar energy is efficiently stored and available when demand increases;
dependence on the power grid is reduced;
all components work together seamlessly and can be easily managed via a single, intuitive app.
