The Enphase IQ7X Micro Inverter is an inverter which should be attached to the backside of individual solar panels. Contrary to regular inverters, where an entire string is attached to a single inverter. This way, optimum efficiency, maximum reliability and extreme safety are achieved. Optimum efficiency

Regular PV systems will only start to generate energy when the sun is at a higher level. Enphase installations will start working as soon as the sun rises. String inverters usually have multiple moving parts, for example active cooling, which are prone to defects, reducing power output. Micro inverters do not have that same issue. They do not have moving parts and consist out of up to 70% less parts as a whole. If in the rare occasion a micro inverter does break within the 25 year warranty period, it will be replaced without any additional cost.

Extreme safety

The Enphase system means safe AC voltage, for each module, directly linked to the circuit breaker. In case of a failure, the circuit breaker will immediately shut down the power. String inverters usually mean high DC voltage and are usually unable to do this. A big risk is for example electric arcs that can lead to fires. More advantages of an Enphase installation are the integrated detection system that monitors for wiring defects and the fact micro inverters do not produce any radiation.
